Second Chance Sanctuary Plans 10-Year Reunion

Second Chance Animal Sanctuary of Norman will hold its 10-year reunion celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. June 19 at the sanctuary's new facility, 4500 NW 24 in Norman.

All pets adopted from Second Chance and their owners are invited. Invitations to alumni have been mailed, but it's not too late to participate.

A picnic dinner will be served at 7 p.m. and reservations and a $5 donation are request for the meal only. Other activities include a pet parade, contest for best story, and prizes for oldest and youngest adopted, pet who traveled the farthest, earliest and latest adoption and pet who has changed the most and the least.

Pictures will be collected at the event to be published in a yearbook. For more information, call 321-1915.

The Oklahoma City and Moore animal shelters have each held tornado pet adopt-a-thons in recent weeks. Tornado victims are still urged to visit the shelters to see if a lost pet is being held there. For information about these animals, call the shelters at 297-3100 for the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter or 793-5190 for the Moore Animal Shelter.
